I have not seen this light work in person and I did see the video of it and liked it. but was not convinced .I had other light in mind that look like this one like the 3d version of this one, witch I did see in person and was not impressed. so I took a chance and bought it. My wife was saying u don`t need that now wait till u find the one u want. So I said no I want this one. When I received it I showed her and she said wow what a good investment. and its gotten very good reviews in all my gigs. I definitely recommend it to any one that likes to look good at there gigs likes

Chauvet Wireless DMX Transmitter / Receiver Review

(More customer reviews)For those of you lighting people who live in the little space between the producer and the production, this is an excellent tool to have! With one transmitter on the DMX controller (I have "ETC 48/96", "ETC 24/48", "Chauvet DMX 70", "Chauvet Stage Designer 24", American DJ and Levitron controllers) you can place a receiver on each light stand/tower and back stage. Even if you buy this unit that only has two channels and later need more channels, you can upgrade simply by purchasing the new unit ("Chauvet D-Fi") and still access all of the capacity of up to six universes. I have run 41 intelligent fixtures and 34 standard/dimmer-pack units off of just this little baby right here. "Just get power to the pole" and this makes control a snap. The nice part is that after you are set up, you can even move your controller and it now only takes a minute max. And if you have a house that has a "five pin DMX512" interface, all you do is get the adapter cable and connect to the house and put your lighting board where you please. I even have a battery pack to run some of my lighting controllers so that I can carry them around while setting-up to test all of the fixtures/scanners as I go to confirm proper operation, focus and aim!

Chauvet Mushroom Review

(More customer reviews)I purchased the chauvet mushroom about 2 weeks ago, it seems to work as advertised, but the issue I have with it is the sound activation seems very random , the beams either jerk left or right a bit, or spin constantly and it seems that unless you barely turn the knob then the sound activation doesn't work at all, (there is really no variable sound level input it's on or off) overall I am unimpressed with chauvet products I also purchased a chauvet B250 bubble machine that was basically a squirt gun that shot bubble juice all over everything and blew about 50 bubbles a min (a 5 year old with a bubble wand could do better and spill less fluid)I used the recommended "chauvet bubble juice" that costs twenty bucks a gallon and tried the regular cheapo juice the cheap stuff actually worked better maybe 70 bubbles a min at five bucks a gallon...... I think that chauvet products are hit or miss (mostly miss from my experience so far).

Chauvet J-Five Moonflower LED Light Review

(More customer reviews)My wife wanted this to add to our family room to go with the home theater. The biggest issue is figuring placement so you just try it here and there. It is a twin lens and LCD so covers more space and does not get hot. I would have like an off on switch but since they use it in clubs I can see why not if you hook many together (daisey chain) I just use a switched power cord.
It is fun for a party but so far we use it just to dance around by ourselves or even Karoake. It does react to the music but I think there is a slight reaction time delay but we are happy we got it.
You can set it to be sound sensitive or just go through a set program.

Chauvet DMX mega strobe III Dj lights Review

(More customer reviews)I own 8 Chauvet strobes. I love the blinder function that was on the original DMX Mega Strobe. The Megastrobe II was missing this so I was naturally excited when it was added back the the Megastrobe III. I bought 4 of these. The first one was DOA. The other 3 have been back to chauvet. 2 are about to go back again. The blinder function flickers sometimes. One flashes intermittently and the other wont flash at all. Its not a bulb problem either, I tried that. I will say Chauvet's service is much more helpful than ADJ's.
Save yourself the headache and go with an Elation Proton star or a used original DMX Mega Strobe. If you don't need the blinder function then maybe even the ADJ $85 strobe.

Chauvet Abyss LED Review

(More customer reviews)I use to own 2 of these exact lights in the non-LED model. This one is slightly more compact and has a bigger lens, but performs the exact same effect, but at a fraction of heat and energy consumption. My old ones would automatically shut off after 15 moments due to overheating and would turn back on 2-3 minutes later and would constantly cycle this way. Those problems are gone with the LED versions. Awesome product and cool effect!

(More customer reviews)Out of the box, these lights are pretty solid. Construction is sturdy and they come with both a power cord and power extension cord. I was glad to see that the ac adapter was built into the light. On the back of the light, there are plugs for both power in and power out; meaning these lights can be daisy chained on power just as they are with dmx.
After firing them up, I immediatley noticed that the color distribution was not that great; the colors wern't properly mixed and were not homogeneous. This is because there are twice as many red leds as there are blue and green, causing a slightly larger red blur and an uneven distribution - which was bad for me because I was using the lights as wash lights.
If you have as precise an attention to detail as I do, this uneven distribution would be unacceptable. After some trial and error, I found that if you remove the four screws securing the front window and tape a Rosco 118 Diffusion Film to the back side of this window, it significantly improves performance. The 118 film has just the right amount of diffusion power to even out the distrubution while retaining a good beam angle.
The built in programs aren't too impressive; none of them fade the colors - they all flash through colors or strobe. A static color can be set with the dip switches, with three dips for both red and green and two for blue, totaling 147 color combinations.
So now that I have my diffusion film on, the lights look beautiful. Color mixing via DMX is as smooth as anything out there... for a fraction of the cost.
Brightness is decent for an led light; the leds used in this are certainly of good quality. That said, they aren't powerful enough for stage use; (unless you have enough of them!) they are more suited towards indirect lighting, wash lighting, and general interior lighting.

(More customer reviews)I am very pleased with American DJ T20F4Ch Chase Controller With Foot Switch. I bought 2 to develop a small simple lighting package for a basement band project.
They give me a basic light show without out spending alot of money.
I already owned 8 PAR46's so this was the perfect setup for them.
One feature I like about these units is the ability to combine units together and use one footswitch
to control muitiple units. You set the 1st unit as MASTER and the additional units as SLAVE, all the
chase modes are synked to the 1st unit.
This system offers several predetermined chase modes and the flexibility to use sound generated modes.
I hope they prove to be sturdy and reliaiable, but that will be seen in the future.

Chauvet Techno Strobe Review

I know I'm going to disappoint some Chauvet customers, but I did NOT buy this for party use!
My projects include stop motion photography along with High Speed photography. The actual physical size of the unit is much larger than I'd anticipated, The lens diameter is approximately 8" and the length approximately 10". This isn't an issue for my needs, or an indictment of the product, just information for those who might need it.
The flash is VERY bright, well into the range of my stronger (dedicated) photo flashes. Both the trigger, the auto and the music modes work quite well. In the music mode the music volume needs to be relatively loud and the strobe near the source of the sound.
This unit, like most with high output energy (and subsequent heat) has a duty cycle of 20 minutes at maximum power. This is absolutely normal for this kind of device, and it's a shame so many reviewers don't understand that concept.
All in all, a VERY impressive unit for a good price. Should we outgrow this unit (in our photo needs) we'll add more of this model for additional and extended lighting.
Five stars for this one!

It worked perfectly. I love this product and i actualy have it mounted on my living room wall now. It is not a huge clunky light and is perfect for large events or just making your own party at home. I'm sure people driving up and down our street some nights wonder what is going on at our house when I turn it on crank up the music and me and my 4 yr old have our own dance party! It is great and has different settings. I like the setting that moves the lights to the sound of the music. I would recommend it to anyone who likes lighting as much as i do. If you are d.j. it is a great travel size light.

Elation control DP-DMX 20L Four Channel Dimmer Pack 600 Watts/ch Review

(More customer reviews)I use DMX dimmers for concerts, stage shows, and special effects. I looked at dimmers that cost hundreds or thousands more. I don't have that kind of money to lay out for simple dimming. I have used these much-criticized "cheap" dimmers for years with no complaints. Recently I ruined a dimmer by accidentally running to many par cans at once. I know some guys can diagnose the issue and solder in a new $1.00 part-but not me. I bought this dimmer based on the Elation reputation plus the specs looked better than my previous dimmer. I have been told all the different brands are all made in the same place in China. They are either cheap copies with inferior components or they are good units that use quality components per the manufacturer's request. Here is what I found with this pack. The metal case is thicker than the cheaper versions I have owned. This is a plus since we abuse the dimmers at every event. The old case had hanger brackets that would bend over time...not this pack. The DMX address function is easy to use. This pack uses a digital display so you just select the address by pushing a button until the led displays the proper address. The product also functions as a stand-alone dimmer/flasher. If you are a DJ and don't manually program par cans, you can just set the pack to use one of the pre-programmed patterns. Just plug in your par cans, and the show goes on. Also note that this is also a SWITCH PACK. Cheaper dimmer packs act only as dimmers. You can't use a regular dimmer pack to run non-dimming lights like lasers, fog machines, and other effect lighting. This pack is programmable so that it will act as as a on-off unit. Say you want to control a spinning dance light, from a distance. Set the pack to act as a switch and you will have the ability to control your effect light through the dimmer pack and dmx controller. It is easy to do all of this. Just read the instructions. So far this dimmer has worked well for us. We would buy more units without a second thought.
