(More customer reviews)I bought this mirror ball for a Saturday Night Fever party at our yacht club. I also bought the motor, that when attached, makes the ball move slowly in a circle.
This was exactly what I wanted and it was great for the party. Our room was approximately 30' x 50', so this size was perfect. If your room is small, this ball would be too big.
I also separately purchased a cheap clip on lamp with a 75 watt spot at Home Depot to focus on the ball. It is important that you buy a pin spot light or similar or you won't get the effect you want. I found a package which included the ball, motor and pin light for smaller disco balls but I could not find a package for this larger ball.
I would highly recommend this product.

Chauvet Abyss LED Review

(More customer reviews)I use to own 2 of these exact lights in the non-LED model. This one is slightly more compact and has a bigger lens, but performs the exact same effect, but at a fraction of heat and energy consumption. My old ones would automatically shut off after 15 moments due to overheating and would turn back on 2-3 minutes later and would constantly cycle this way. Those problems are gone with the LED versions. Awesome product and cool effect!

Chauvet Timer System Review

(More customer reviews)This is a fine controller, but what eluded me for the longest time was the switch on the left. The one that goes between full on, chase, and black out. What appears to affect the whole board actually is just a switch that goes to the 1/4" jack on the back to plug into a standard Chauvet relay pack in place of those cheap foot pedals. That'd be a great feature for someone upgrading to a unit like this, but for my purposes, it's pointless. I'd also like to point out that it is not compatible with American DJ units that use a UC-3 controller.
Another thing to note is that the fogger jack is of the IEC type. Strobe is 1/4" mono.
The only other thing that seems to be lacking is a sound sensitivity knob. The unit seems to have an automatic sensitivity feature though which adjusts for the most part on its own. I have found that it is quite poor at picking up the beat in banging techno.
Finally, this relay pack is great when you have music playing, but if you are expecting to use it in a quiet place, don't. It is a RELAY pack, meaning you will hear the click click click as relays turn off and on. Not noticeable with music playing however.

Chauvet MiN Spot - DMX512 LED Moving Yoke Review

(More customer reviews)Let me start by saying I do NOT own this product. However I was contemplating buying this product, so I went to Guitar Center to see it with my own two eyes. Unfortunately, I was not impressed. The output is just not there yet. It's a cool little moving yoke fixture with a gobo wheel and smooth pan/tilt, but it's just not bright enough. Currently they've got it with a 14W RGB LED, other fixtures today are sporting a 20W RGB.
LED technology is the obvious direction for stage and architectural lighting, but it's still got a ways to go. Especially in the realm of economical technology.

I was a little confused when I noticed a 9V power supply input on the back of the controller. At first I thought I needed a external power supply (which is not provided in the box) but realized the controller is actually powered from the relay pack.

Elation control DP-DMX 20L Four Channel Dimmer Pack 600 Watts/ch Review

(More customer reviews)I use DMX dimmers for concerts, stage shows, and special effects. I looked at dimmers that cost hundreds or thousands more. I don't have that kind of money to lay out for simple dimming. I have used these much-criticized "cheap" dimmers for years with no complaints. Recently I ruined a dimmer by accidentally running to many par cans at once. I know some guys can diagnose the issue and solder in a new $1.00 part-but not me. I bought this dimmer based on the Elation reputation plus the specs looked better than my previous dimmer. I have been told all the different brands are all made in the same place in China. They are either cheap copies with inferior components or they are good units that use quality components per the manufacturer's request. Here is what I found with this pack. The metal case is thicker than the cheaper versions I have owned. This is a plus since we abuse the dimmers at every event. The old case had hanger brackets that would bend over time...not this pack. The DMX address function is easy to use. This pack uses a digital display so you just select the address by pushing a button until the led displays the proper address. The product also functions as a stand-alone dimmer/flasher. If you are a DJ and don't manually program par cans, you can just set the pack to use one of the pre-programmed patterns. Just plug in your par cans, and the show goes on. Also note that this is also a SWITCH PACK. Cheaper dimmer packs act only as dimmers. You can't use a regular dimmer pack to run non-dimming lights like lasers, fog machines, and other effect lighting. This pack is programmable so that it will act as as a on-off unit. Say you want to control a spinning dance light, from a distance. Set the pack to act as a switch and you will have the ability to control your effect light through the dimmer pack and dmx controller. It is easy to do all of this. Just read the instructions. So far this dimmer has worked well for us. We would buy more units without a second thought.

American DJ Punch Pro LED RGB Color Mixing LED Wash High Output Fixture Review

(More customer reviews)It's a solid light. I have 4 of them that I use together and am quite pleased with them. The 0-30% seems unreliable in the dimming mode but most of the time I'm using the colors at full on. It has a reasonably good output for the costs. While less bright than a 500 watt PAR-64 it doesn't draw much power at all about 50 watts so you won't be taxing the power on the venue you use these in. It out performs most LED par cans that I've seen and has a similar oval shape. There are several different modes if you don't have a DMX controller that still make the lights useful, there is a static color, fade, and music modes. There is also a six and three channel dmx mode if you have a controller, RGB and RGB with some effects included. The three channel mode is the only one I use consistently. There is only 3 pin dmx input or output so for higher end controllers or equipment you'll need an adapter to convert from 5 pin. The control it quick and you and do some fantastically fast color chases with the right programming.
Overall it is a good balance of output vs price. Great for DJs and bands performing medium to small venues. It has limited use for conventional theater spaces and large performance halls because of the output.

(More customer reviews)This is the coolest looking light on my stand even turned off. The covereage is minimal, and the scenes repeat after about 30 seconds. However, the beam effect is GREAT with fog, and friends say it alone is better than some rock concerts they have been to. I bet it would look great with two or three of these lights. Responds to sound very well, and is very light. when strategically placed, this light is brilliant.

(More customer reviews)Like most DJs I have been using the sc-8 wired version. Finally American DJ came out with a remote controlled wireless version! I love this unit. It saves me set up time because I don't have to run a 50' cable to my booth and place the switch panel there. Now I set up my stand and lights, plug them in and I'm done. The power pack feels solid. It's a little thicker than the wired version pack. It has eight electric plugs, one 1/4" UC3 jack to control 1 American DJ light (more if daisy chained), and a circuit breaker. You can plug in eight lights and turn them on and off with the remote. No flash button, just on and off. Also the UC3 control is great. I have two of the American DJ Mega Pixel LED lights so I plug in the UC3 control to the "Master" light and run a XLR cable to the second light to link them together. The remote also has the the three buttons to control any UC3 light, just like the wired UC3 remote except there is not a flashing light on the remote to show what mode you are in. It reacts fast and works through walls at a distance.I put a clamp on it to hold it to the light stand.
The remote is small and takes an 23A battery. Push the buttons firmly and it works every time.
It has an all on and all off button you hold for 5 seconds. This is 16 amps and will handle all your LED lights great. I love this and will never go back to a wired lighting controller. Good product!
