(More customer reviews)This Karaoke machine is not a toy. It is actually a very nice piece of electronic equipment. The sound volume coming out of the enclosed speaker is adequate. There are cables included with this unit that allow you to connect it to your 2000 Watt Sony Sound System so that you can make yourself deaf - just like a real rock star. Like the rest of the reviewers note, there is also a cable to allow you hook the unit up to a TV so that you can see lyrics. But the kid that I bought this for never uses this feature because she knows the words to all of her songs by heart and doesn't need this feature. The included microphone is what I would consider "studio quality" - it is quite sturdy and seems to have a good sensitivity. I'm sure you know, but I'm going to point that you can sing along with ANY audio CD, not just Karaoke CD's. You can also use this machine as a CD player to listen to your CD's, although the one oversight on this unit is that there is no headphone jack for private listening. This device will also work quite well as a portable Public Address (PA) System. Simply turn the music volume all the way down and the microphone volume all the way up. This a very versatile, very well made piece of equipment and it is a tremendous bargain at $51.

(More customer reviews)What a toy for kids! It looks like a toy and functions like one, too. Useless! It's not sensitive. You've got to kiss it to make your voice heard thru amplifiers even if you tune the mike volume to max. And your voice doesn't mix in well with the instrumental either. It's cheap, indeed, but why waste $50(shipping included) on a piece of garbage? If I need a good mike, I'd have to spend more money anyway.
This $50 is just money lost.

VISIOSONIC PCDJ Karaoke ( Windows ) Review

(More customer reviews)I was recently in the market for a DJ software package so I could transition into MP3 dj-ing. I thought PCDJ was the best software on the market, clearly I was wrong. When the software was functioning (rarely), the features that first attracted me to it worked fine. Then, things went downhill from there. First off, PCDJ has a sound dropping issue. Whenever one would maximize or minimize a window, the sound would stutter or skip, producing a horrendous noise. Visiosonic has addressed the issue, but has yet to produce a fix. It also turns out Visiosonic has a ridiculous licensing/product activation system that will lock you out of the application by changing even the slightest settings to your system's hardware (BIOS update or a video card driver update for example). I paid PCDJ and now I can't use it. Tech support was an absolute joke; it took them one week to respond to my inquiry and finally unlocked my software. After the same thing happened again about a month later, I decided to forget about PCDJ all together. Think twice before purchasing any Visiosonic product, it's just not worth the money. Sadly enough, the application lockout happened right before one of my DJ jobs, a very embarrassing situation indeed. Look at other software packages (heck, even iTunes is better than this) before stooping to this.

(More customer reviews)I purchased this Karaoke machine specifically because of the iPod docking feature. Once I received it, I found out it is only compatible with iPod Nano 2nd Generation, not the newer iPod Nano (which I will be receiving soon.) Also, the included microphone volume is so low, even when the volume is set the highest it will go, you can barely hear the vocalist over the music. We had to purchase our own better quality microphone to use with it. I would not purchase this again if I had the option.

The full-featured, multi-function Singing Machine ISM-370 karaoke system includes a top-loading CD/CDG player, an AM/FM radio, alarm clock, and iPod docking station. And with the built-in stereo speakers (4W + 4W for 8 total Watts of power), you'll be able to fill any room with karaoke fun or pumping party music.
The ISM-370 includes a top-loading CD/CDG player that lets you easily swap CDs so that your karaoke party doesn't slow down. Tech TalkCDG: An acronym for Compact Disc plus Graphics, this is a regular CD with information stored on a data track simultaneous to music. In laymen's terms, CDG has a video output for simple graphics (not full motion video). In the case of karaoke, the graphics function is used to store song lyrics, and display the lyrics in synch with the music. In most cases, CDG software displays lyrics, which change color as they are to be sung. A regular television is all that is required to display CDG lyrics.
Echo: Produced by creating minor controlled feedback in the singer's voice, echo adds depth and resonance. The echo function does not affect the music.
Auto Voice Control (AVC): This useful function is used primarily during practice sessions while a singer is learning a song. Please note that the AVC function only works with multiplex recordings and not with standard audio recordings.
Multiplex: A Multiplex allows you to separate the vocals and music by using the balance control on your Singing Machine Karaoke System.
