(More customer reviews)Effective range on the 81.3 MHz channel was about 2-3 ft, and on the 85.3 MHz channel the range was around 8 inches. Granted, I live in New York City, so there is a lot of interference, but I still expected to get at least 10 feet between me and the receiver. Also know that it gives mic level output, so you need a preamp or microphone input if you are planning to plug it into a stereo.
